  George Thaddeus Saj, MD FACS

George Thaddeus Saj received a BA degree from Dartmouth College and an MD degree from the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University. After an internship at Bellevue Hospital (Cornell Division), he trained in surgery at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston and the North Shore-Cornell Medical Center in Manhasset, NY. Commissioned as a Major in the US Army, he served as one the 8 Staff Surgeons at the 95th  Evacuation Hospital in DaNang, Viet Nam.

Since 1973, he has practiced surgery in New Jersey.  Over the years, he has served as Director of Surgery and as President of the Medical Staff at Mountainside Hospital. He has also held the post of President of the Combined Staffs of the Atlantic Health System  and served on the Board of Trustees of Mountainside Hospital and Atlantic Health System. Dr. Saj has been active in the governance of New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Surgeons which he served as President and also on the national level as Governor from NJ at the American College of Surgeons. 

Dr Saj is a member of the Society of American Gastro-Intenstinal Endoscopic Surgeons, as well as  the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

 Dr. Saj has a particular interest in intestinal and hernia surgery. He has performed over 4000 hernia repairs under local anesthesia. Dr. Saj lives in Montclair. His chief enthusiasms are surgery, his wife, large family and sculpture.
