Silvia Fresco, MD FACS
Dr. Fresco received a Bachelor of Engineering in Bio-Engineering from
Steven’s Institute of Technology in 1987. She then went on to receive
her M.D. degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey in 1992. She completed her residency training and was Chief
Resident in General Surgery at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia,
one of the University of Pennsylvania Affiliate Hospitals.
Dr. Fresco began her
private practice in 1997 and then joined Montclair Surgical Associates
in 1999. She specializes in General Surgery; however, her special
interests and areas of expertise include Laparoscopic GI surgery and
Breast Surgery.
Dr. Fresco is Certified
by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons. She is a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and
the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is the Physician Liaison
for the American College of Surgeons Committee on Cancer and the
Clinical Associate to the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. She serves on
several hospital committees including The Cancer Committee, Emergency
Room Committee and Breast Center Committee. Dr. Fresco is fluent in
Spanish. Her time away from surgery is spent with her husband and two
wonderful children.
